iOS 5 users who have been facing this problem where the battery life drains a lot quicker even without great usage and even when the device is in standby mode of their iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S is greatly reduced due to their new update. The recent iOS 5.1 update aimed to fix this problem of shortening the battery life by the update iOS 5 is now released under the above link. Users of the updated version after using it says that the improvement is substantial, and  so if you haven’t updated your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 5.1 yet, its still not late to do so now.


Every user who will update to the new iOS 5 will get to enjoy the privilege of improved general battery health, but overall the improvements will be more effective and efficient on cellular iOS devices, basically the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and iPad 2 3G models. The assumption is that most of the issues regarding the potential location services has been resolved through this new update, and its certainly worth mentioning that almost all the users of the standard Wi-Fi models and iPod touch also notice a pretty good boost.

iOS 5.1 (build 9B176) is compatible with  iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPod touch 3rd & 4th gen, and iPad 3.

Further more tips to Increase the battery health:-

Update to iOS 5.1 should hopefully take out all the battery life related issues. But calibrating an iOS devices battery once a month is another wise move to increase the battery health by letting it charge to 100% and then allowing it to run down to 0% before charging it again,. It’s another good idea to disable services like Bluetooth or Push Notifications which will drain the battery faster.
